Frequently Asked Questions About 11+, SATs, and KS3 Preparation

Answers on our 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 online preparation programmes, mock tests, practice papers, live classes, curriculum alignment, support model, and trial options.

How was MeritLift born, and what is our journey?

Our classes are already fully established, actively running, and delivering excellent, proven results for families across the UK. Growing from just 4 initial students to mentoring over 400 has been an incredible journey rooted in a proud five-year legacy under MS Dewan Classes, which originally began with two years of intensive curriculum research inspired by a parent's successful journey to Henrietta Barnett School. Maanvi personally leads all live Year 5, KS2, and competitive KS3 selective batches through meritlift.com, while Shipra independently directs her live Year 3 and Year 4 batches through her own dedicated early-prep track.

What is the relationship between MeritLift and MS Dewan Classes?

MS Dewan Classes is our shared legacy online educational brand, while MeritLift serves as our dedicated international digital platform and online classroom environment. To comply with international tax frameworks, the business operations of MS Dewan Classes are organised into two independent sole proprietorships: the Junior Pathway (Year 3–4) is run entirely by Shipra Chawla, and the Senior Pathways (Year 5–6 & KS3) are run entirely by Maanvi Kalra.

Why are payments and registration invoices handled separately?

Because our pathways are executed by two distinct, independent sole proprietorships under the shared MS Dewan Classes and MeritLift banner, all invoicing and processing are kept strictly separate. Contracts and fees for the Junior Pathway (Year 3–4) are handled directly by Shipra Chawla's entity, while Senior Pathways (Year 5–6 & KS3) are billed through Maanvi Kalra's entity.

Do you record live classes or store session videos?

No, we do not record, store, or distribute any live classes. All online sessions for 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 preparation are conducted in real time only, and no audio, video, or screen recordings are retained by our platform. This approach is designed to protect student privacy and support compliance with UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements.

Will I have direct support during the preparation process?

Yes, both tracks operate on a strict direct-communication model. Maanvi's Advanced Track (Year 5, KS2, & KS3): Maanvi personally mentors all Year 5, KS2, and KS3 selective batches, eliminating the friction of changing teachers to guarantee direct parent communication and stable academic guidance. Families receive comprehensive, long-term support spanning interactive live classes, rigorous mock tests, practice papers, and strategic planning. Shipra's Early-Prep Track (Year 3 & 4): Shipra personally mentors Year 3 and Year 4 batches on her independent platform, introducing advanced vocabulary, reasoning logic, and mathematical concepts early to prevent Year 5 burnout. Her autonomous track builds the vital cognitive stamina required for a flawless 11+ launchpad.

Are practice papers included in the monthly fee, or are there extra charges?

All weekly practice papers, curriculum homework sheets, and routine milestone tests are 100% included in the standard monthly fee for enrolled students. The only exceptions are our specialised, seasonal Live Mega Mock Exam Series. Because these mega-mocks are custom-built to simulate real-time exam board conditions for both our internal students and hundreds of external, non-enrolled applicants across the UK, they require a separate, standalone registration fee.

Do you offer resources or guidance for the wider parenting community?

Yes. Beyond our regular batches, we support a growing parent network with free mini mock tests, cohort comparison insights, exam guidance, preparation strategies, and online educational resources for 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 families across the UK.

Are your live classes for 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 conducted online or offline?

All our sessions are conducted completely online through interactive virtual classrooms designed for 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 students. Our live online classes combine real-time teaching, mock test discussions, practice paper reviews, and active student engagement from the comfort of home.

Are your practice papers and mock tests aligned with the UK curriculum?

Absolutely. All our 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 practice papers, mock tests, assessments, and online preparation materials are aligned with the latest UK curriculum standards and current grammar school entrance trends, including GL and CEM-style question formats.

Do you offer a trial session or free resources before we enrol?

Absolutely. Families can request a free trial session for our 11+, KS2 SATs, and KS3 online preparation programmes, subject to batch availability. Students can also access free resources including practice papers, mini mock tests, vocabulary builders, comprehension exercises, and preparation guidance to experience the MeritLift learning approach before enrolment.
